Warm, grounded and quietly radiant, The Pathfinder — Golden Edition is a sculptural lamp that celebrates thoughtful reuse and local textile heritage.

Hand-built from reclaimed cardboard, paper clay and carefully selected upcycled fabric — including locally produced shweshwe — this giraffe lamp is defined by its elongated form and sun-warmed palette. Layers of yellow and ochre fabric create a calm, cohesive surface while allowing traces of pattern and history to remain visible.

Seams and overlaps are intentionally revealed, honouring the materials’ previous lives rather than disguising them. The gently suspended bulb casts a soft, downward glow that enhances the textures and brings a sense of late-afternoon warmth into a space.

Each lamp is individually made. Variations in fabric pattern, placement and tone are part of the design, ensuring every piece is entirely one-of-a-kind.
