Why I Started African Secret
My journey into the world of natural products began unexpectedly. As a pregnant woman, I became increasingly aware of the harmful chemicals lurking in many commercial products. Desperate for safe, effective options to care for my growing belly, I embarked on a quest for locally sourced, natural alternatives. This exploration ignited a deep passion for phytomedicine and the potential of indigenous plants. It was then that the idea for African Secret personal care products was born.
My Biggest Win As An Entrepreneur
Looking back, two standout moments define my entrepreneurial journey. Firstly, being crowned CANSA Western Cape’s Entrepreneur of the Year was a validation of my hard work and dedication. Secondly, weathering the storm of the COVID-19 pandemic was a testament to the resilience of African Secret.
My Biggest Fear as an Entrepreneur
Like many entrepreneurs, the fear of failure is a constant companion. Investing countless hours, energy, and resources into building a business creates a deep-rooted concern about letting down loved ones who have supported me.
